We’ve all experienced the frustration of breaking a valuable piece of equipment while adventuring in Minecraft. A bow is no exception. If you’ve ever wondered how to repair a bow in Minecraft, check out this quick guide!
How to Make a Bow Repair Table in Minecraft
An anvil is essential for repairing your bow and other equipment. To make your own anvil, you’ll need to get enough iron ingots to craft three iron blocks (that’s 27 ingots, since each block requires nine) and four ingots to spare.
It may seem like a big sacrifice, but an anvil is incredibly useful. Not only can you repair weapons and other items, but you can also combine enchantments and rename items.
However, if you don’t have the time to craft your own anvil, you can find one in a nearby village and simply loot it with your pickaxe. They’ll never know what hit them.
Bow Repair in Minecraft
All you have to do is place the bow in the anvil, and in the second slot, an extra material that bows are made of. The anvil will repair it and keep any enchantments placed on the item.
Alternatively, you can use another bow instead of collecting the materials to repair a stronger bow, as they are easy enough to get.
If you have two enchanted bows taking up space in your warehouse, you can even combine their enchantments using an anvil, creating an even stronger weapon.
Another option for repairing a bow is through a crafting table, but the downside to this method is that enchanted bows cannot be repaired this way.
Instead, when you try to repair the bow, it will turn into a normal bow with slightly increased durability. Not a good compromise.
How to Repair an Infinity Bow
The Infinity enchantment allows you to use the bow without using any arrows. It essentially has “infinite” ammo, but having this enchantment on a bow gives it one major drawback.
An Infinity Bow cannot also have the Repair enchantment, which allows it to be repaired with XP. You can still repair an Infinity Bow with an anvil, but it will require significantly more materials.
The Infinity enchantment has a high repair cost that increases each time, meaning that after four repairs with a bow and anvil, your Infinity Bow will no longer be repairable.
It’s better to just craft a new bow and re-enchant it with Infinity if you want to forgo the need to carry arrows. Although, if we were you, we’d do the bow repair and just make arrows, considering how common the materials are for making them.
